⚖️ Sahifund Review – Bandhan Multi Cap Fund ✔
PLUS: Stability, track record, cost efficiency
Bandhan Multi Cap Fund stands out as a balanced and reasonably diversified multi-cap option for investors who want one fund to capture large-cap stability along with mid- and small-cap growth. The biggest positive here is its low expense ratio of 0.58%, which is attractive for a multi-cap fund and helps long-term compounding. The portfolio is spread across 105 stocks, reducing stock-specific risk and making the scheme suitable for SIP-based investing. Its 3-year return of 16.88% is respectable and slightly ahead of the benchmark, showing that the fund has delivered decent market participation. The fund also maintains a healthy mix across market caps, which supports diversified wealth creation over a full cycle.
MINUS: Large AUM, large-cap bias, momentum lag
That said, the fund is still not among the top-performing multi-cap schemes in the category and appears to be more of a steady performer than a standout alpha creator. Its 1-year return of 2.83% is only average and still trails stronger peers like Kotak and Nippon India Multi Cap. The portfolio has a relatively high large-cap tilt at 46.86%, which may reduce upside in a strong mid- and small-cap bull phase. Since the fund is still relatively young, it does not yet carry a long 5- or 10-year performance history, which matters for investors seeking proven long-cycle consistency. In short, this is a safer multi-cap choice, but not a category leader at this stage.
Sahifund View (Decisive Line):
A sensible SIP-friendly multi-cap fund for conservative equity investors, but aggressive return-seekers may find stronger alternatives in the category.
