Taurus Mutual Fund Analysis (Sahifund View)

Taurus Mutual Fund is a smaller fund house with a focused equity-only product lineup and relatively modest assets under management. Among its schemes, Taurus Ethical Fund delivered the best 1-year return at 7.08%, followed by Taurus Mid Cap Fund at 5.44% and Taurus Large Cap Fund at 5.27%.

For diversified investors, Taurus Flexi Cap Fund returned 2.67%, while Taurus ELSS Tax Saver Fund delivered a muted 1.25%. Passive investors have the option of Taurus Nifty 50 Index Fund, though AUM remains small at Rs.6 Cr. Most Taurus schemes carry higher expense ratios compared with larger AMCs, which can impact long-term returns.

The AMC currently has no meaningful debt fund presence, making it largely an equity-focused niche player.

Sahifund View: Taurus Mutual Fund may suit selective investors looking at niche exposure, but low AUM and high expense ratios are key concerns. For most retail investors, larger AMCs with stronger track records, lower costs and wider fund choices may offer better long-term comfort.
