Is it good to invest in Tata Nifty500 Multicap Infrastructure 50:30:20 Index Fund NFO?
Guidance for Tata Nifty500 Multicap Infrastructure 50:30:20 Index Fund by Paresh Gordhandas, C.A., Research Analyst.
Based on the same principal as the Tata Nifty 500 Multicap Manufacturing 50:30:20 Index Fund. But if you have not read that article, explaining the same below :
The name seems long and complicated. But let’s break it up for you.
1. Based on India’s manufacturing sector.
2. 50% weightage to large cap stocks, 30% weightage to midcap stocks and 20% weightage to small cap stocks.
3. This selection is done from the Nifty 500 Index that represent the infrastructure theme.
The Index comprises of companies like Reliance Industries, L&T, ONGC, Bharti Airtel, PowerGrid etc. All companies which are the bedrock for the development of the Indian economy.
This is also a passive fund and the Fund Manager does not have to select the stocks. He only has to mirror the stock selection and weightage of the Benchmark Index.
We recommend you invest a small percentage of your portfolio in this Fund if you have not already invested in any other Infra sector fund.
The other funds in this category include the HDFC Infrastructure Fund, ICICI Prudential Infrastructure Fund, ABSL Infrastructure Fund, Invesco India Infrastructure Fund, Quant Infrastructure Fund etc. However, these are not Index Funds.
