⚖️ Sahifund Review – SBI Small Cap Fund
PLUS: Stability | Track Record | Cost Efficiency
SBI Small Cap Fund has demonstrated strong long-term wealth creation, delivering nearly 19–20% CAGR over 10 years and an impressive 23% return since launch, highlighting its ability to compound over full market cycles. The fund follows a diversified small-cap approach with exposure to nearly 70 stocks, helping reduce single-stock risk in a volatile segment. Low portfolio turnover of around 10% reflects a patient, long-term investment style. Backed by SBI AMC’s deep research capability, the fund is designed for disciplined small-cap investing.
MINUS: Large AUM | Small-Cap Volatility | Short-Term Lag
With a large AUM of over Rs. 36,000 crore, flexibility in smaller companies is constrained. The fund has underperformed in the short term, with negative 1-year returns, reflecting its inability to capture recent momentum. Being a pure small-cap strategy, drawdowns can be sharp, testing investor patience during market corrections.
Sahifund View (Decisive Line):
Suitable only for high-risk investors with a 7+ year SIP horizon who can stay invested through volatility to benefit from long-term small-cap compounding.

What lies ahead? Below we decode returns consistency, portfolio concentration, peer positioning and risk profile in detail.
Suitable For Which Investors?
When you invest for seven years or more, you can expect gains that comfortably beat the inflation rate as well as returns from fixed income options.
This is a fund that invests in smaller companies. Compared to those that invest in larger companies, such funds tend to fall more when stock prices fall. So while you can expect higher returns in the long term, there will be more severe ups and downs along the way.
Like for all equity funds, you must invest only through the SIP route.
Fund’s Investment Strategy:
The scheme seeks to provide investors with opportunities for long-term growth in capital along with the liquidity of an open-ended scheme by investing predominantly in a well diversified basket of equity stocks of small cap companies.
