⚖️ Sahifund Review – SBI Large & Midcap Fund
PLUS: Stability | Track Record | Cost Efficiency
SBI Large & Midcap Fund has shown consistent long-term performance, delivering ~20–21% CAGR over 5 years and comfortably beating its benchmark across cycles. Its balanced allocation between large and midcaps offers a blend of stability and growth, helping smoothen volatility. The fund benefits from experienced management and SBI AMC’s robust research platform. With an expense ratio of 0.73%, costs are reasonable for an actively managed hybrid market-cap strategy. A well-diversified portfolio (80+ stocks) limits single-stock risk.
MINUS: Large AUM | Partial Large-Cap Bias | Momentum Lag
A large AUM of ~Rs. 37,000 crore can restrict agility in sharp market moves. Despite the midcap exposure, the portfolio still carries a meaningful large-cap tilt, which may cap upside during strong midcap rallies. Returns can lag more aggressive peers in momentum-driven phases, requiring patience.
Sahifund View (Decisive Line):
A solid core fund for 5+ year SIP investors seeking a balanced large–midcap approach, best suited for steady compounding rather than chasing short-term momentum.

What lies ahead? Below we decode returns consistency, portfolio concentration, peer positioning and risk profile in detail.
Suitable For Which Investors?
When you invest for five years or more, you can expect gains that comfortably beat the inflation rate as well as returns from fixed income options. But be prepared for ups and downs in your investment value along the way.
This fund invests in a combination of large- and medium-sized companies, providing reasonable degree of flexibility to the fund management team to invest in companies of different sizes, depending on where it expects maximum gains. We believe this flexibility is good for fund investors, but we suggest you also consider flexi-cap funds which offer complete freedom to fund managers to choose companies of different sizes.
Like for all equity funds, you must invest only through the SIP route.
Fund’s Investment Strategy:
The scheme seeks to provide the investor with the opportunity of long-term capital appreciation by investing in diversified portfolio comprising predominantly large cap and mid cap companies.
