⚖️ Sahifund Review – Nippon India ELSS Tax Saver Fund
âś“ PLUS: Stability, long track record, reasonable cost
Nippon India ELSS Tax Saver Fund combines tax-saving under Section 80C with long-term equity growth, making it a popular core ELSS choice. The fund has delivered consistent 3–5 year performance, comfortably ahead of category averages. A well-diversified portfolio across large and mid caps helps balance growth and stability. Moderate expense ratio of 1.02% is competitive for an actively managed ELSS. Lower portfolio churn reflects a disciplined, long-term investment approach.
⚖️ MINUS: Large AUM, muted short-term returns, benchmark lag
With AUM above Rs. 15,500 Cr, nimbleness may be constrained during sharp market rotations. 1-year returns have been average, trailing some top ELSS peers in bull phases. Portfolio tilt towards large caps can lead to momentum lag when mid and small caps outperform. Mandatory 3-year lock-in limits liquidity flexibility.
Sahifund Verdict:
A reliable ELSS fund for steady tax-saving SIP investors, suitable for disciplined wealth creation rather than aggressive return chasing.

Suitable For Which Investors?Â
When you invest for five years or more, you can expect gains that comfortably beat the inflation rate as well as returns from fixed income options. In addition, there is a tax benefit. But be prepared for ups and downs in your investment value along the way. Also note that you cannot withdraw your money from this fund before completing three years from the date of investment.Â
Like for all equity funds, you must invest only through the SIP route.Â
Fund’s Investment Strategy:Â
The scheme aims to generate long-term capital appreciation from a portfolio that is invested predominantly in equity and equity related instruments.Â
