Benchmark Index of Mirae Asset S&P BSE Sensex ETF NFO
The S&P BSE SENSEX is India’s most tracked bellwether index. It is designed to measure the performance of the 30 largest, most liquid and financially sound companies across key sectors of the Indian economy that are listed at BSE Ltd.
Index Attributes:
The index represents large-cap companies listed at BSE Ltd. and is calculated based on a float-adjusted market-cap-weighted methodology. Widely used as both a benchmark and an investable index, the S&P BSE SENSEX has a long history of more than 30 years and covers more than 40% of total market cap of the listed universe at BSE Ltd. The index generally attempts to maintain index sector weights that are broadly in line with the overall market.

Fund Houses want to keep on launching new funds and to do that they have to employ new Fund Managers. Many a times it happens that a person with almost no experience is managing huge funds. Investors rely on the name of the Fund House , Mirae in this case, which has a very good track record. But do not look into the Fund Manager’s past performance or experience.
Since this is an ETF, stock picking does not assume much importance and hence Fund Manager’s past performance can be ignored to an extent. The benchmark for this Fund is the S&P BSE SENSEX.
This fund can be compared to the HDFC S&P BSE Sensex ETF, SBI S&P BSE Sensex ETF , ICICI Prudential S&P BSE Sensex ETF etc.
