What is the Benchmark Index of HDFC Nifty LargeMidcap 250 Index Fund?
The Nifty LargeMidcap 250 reflects the performance of a portfolio of 100 large cap and 150 mid cap companies listed on NSE, represented through the Nifty 100 and the Nifty Midcap 150 index respectively. The aggregate weight of large cap stocks and mid cap stocks is 50% each and are reset on a quarterly basis.
The index can be used for a variety of purposes such as benchmarking, creation of index funds, ETFs and structured products

The HDFC Nifty LargeMidcap 250 Index Fund is based on the Nifty LargeMidcap 250 Fund. The Index is a combination of the Nifty 100 and Nifty Midcap 150. The aggregate weight of large cap stocks and mid cap stocks is 50% each and are reset on a quarterly basis. This will give a combination of market leaders and future market leaders. While the large caps would be stable with less volatility, the mid-caps would be more volatile.
The Fund has generated Total return of 25.96% in the last five years and 44.18% in the last one year. Studying the Benchmark gains is important as this is a Passive Fund whose holdings will mirror those of its Benchmark and the returns generated will also closely reflect the returns generated by the underlying Benchmark.
Stocks such as HDFC, RIL, TCS, ITC etc are the top constituents of this Index. The Fund Managers are quite experienced and have a good track record. The Nifty LargeMidCap 250 index Fund allows investors to participate in the Indian growth story with a portfolio that is diversified across large caps and mid-caps with a more interesting selection of sectors
