⚖️ Sahifund Review – Bandhan Small Cap Fund (✓)
✓ PLUS: Stability, track record, cost efficiency
Bandhan Small Cap Fund has delivered exceptional long-term performance, with 3-year and 5-year returns among the best in the small-cap category. Low expense ratio of 0.42% significantly enhances compounding over long holding periods. The fund follows a value-oriented, bottom-up approach, which has worked well across cycles. Highly diversified portfolio with 230+ stocks reduces single-stock risk. Fund managers have shown strong stock-picking capability in small and emerging businesses. SIP investors benefit from disciplined exposure to the small-cap universe.
⚖️ MINUS: Large AUM, higher volatility, near-term momentum lag
With AUM above Rs. 18,000 Cr, agility in micro and small-cap names could be constrained going forward. Short-term returns (1 year) have been muted, reflecting small-cap consolidation. Portfolio volatility remains very high, unsuitable for impatient investors. Returns can underperform sharply during market corrections. Not ideal for lump-sum investors timing market peaks.
Sahifund Verdict:
A top-tier small-cap SIP fund for investors with strong risk appetite and 7+ year horizon—stick through cycles to unlock its full potential.

Suitable For Which Investors?
When you invest for seven years or more, you can expect gains that comfortably beat the inflation rate as well as returns from fixed income options.
This is a fund that invests in smaller companies. Compared to those that invest in larger companies, such funds tend to fall more when stock prices fall. So while you can expect higher returns in the long term, there will be more severe ups and downs along the way.
Like for all equity funds, you must invest only through the SIP route.
Fund’s Investment Strategy:
The Scheme seeks to generate long term capital appreciation by investing predominantly in equities and equity linked securities of small cap segment.
