⚖️ Sahifund Review – Axis Large & Mid Cap Fund
✓ PLUS: Stability, diversification, cost efficiency
Axis Large & Mid Cap Fund offers a balanced exposure between large and mid-cap stocks, making it suitable for investors seeking moderated volatility with growth potential. The fund has delivered strong long-term performance, with nearly 20% returns since launch and healthy 3–5 year CAGR. Low expense ratio of 0.60% enhances long-term compounding. A well-diversified portfolio of over 100 stocks reduces concentration risk, while experienced fund managers add process-driven stability.
⚖️ MINUS: Large AUM, average recent returns, muted momentum
With AUM above Rs. 15,600 Cr, agility may be limited in fast-changing market conditions. 1-year returns are modest, trailing both benchmark and top peers during recent rallies. Portfolio tilt leans slightly towards large caps, which may lag in sharp mid-cap upcycles. Higher turnover also indicates more frequent churning.
Sahifund Verdict:
A steady large & mid-cap core holding for SIP investors, best suited for those seeking consistency and reasonable growth rather than aggressive outperformance.

Suitable For Which Investors?
When you invest for five years or more, you can expect gains that comfortably beat the inflation rate as well as returns from fixed income options. But be prepared for ups and downs in your investment value along the way.
This fund invests in a combination of large- and medium-sized companies, providing reasonable degree of flexibility to the fund management team to invest in companies of different sizes, depending on where it expects maximum gains. We believe this flexibility is good for fund investors, but we suggest you also consider flexi-cap funds which offer complete freedom to fund managers to choose companies of different sizes.
Like for all equity funds, you must invest only through the SIP route.
Fund’s Investment Strategy:
The scheme seeks to generate long term capital appreciation by investing in a diversified portfolio of Equity & Equity Related Instruments both in India as well as overseas.
