Is it good to invest in Kotak Special Opportunities Fund NFO?
Guidance for Kotak Special Opportunities Fund by Paresh Gordhandas, C.A., Research Analyst.
The Kotak Special Opportunities Fund can be compared to the ABSL Special Opportunities Fund ( 3 year return 19.05%) and Axis Special Situations Fund (3 year return 16.35%). It will also be in direct competition with WhiteOak Special Opportunities Fund and the Samco Special Opportunities Fund launched in May 2024. Compared to multi-cap and flexi-cap funds, a special opportunities fund has a narrow mandate and a the selection universe is big. Hence, the role of the Fund Manager is very crucial.
However, the returns will be lower compared to the additional risk being taken by an investor. Hence, this type of Fund would be advisable for an investor who already has holdings in the standard mutual fund offerings and is looking to diversify. A small amount can be invested.
